Tottenham want to sign Renato Veiga this summer – Could cost just £24m

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on Chelsea centre-back Renato Veiga, who is impressing on loan in the Serie A following his January switch, but the Lilywhites will have to battle two other clubs for his signature this summer.

Renato Veiga made just seven appearances in the first half of the season for Enzo Mareseca’s men after arriving at Stamford Bridge last summer and the defender was loaned out to Juventus in January.

Despite being injured for a few weeks, Veiga has impressed during his short time in Turin, having featured six times in Serie A appearances and twice in the Champions League for the club.

It turns out that the 21-year-old’s impressive displays at the Allianz Stadium have caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur and one of their Premier League rivals.

Tottenham could spoil Juventus’ plans to sign Renato Veiga

A report in TuttoSport has now claimed that Tottenham are plotting a move for the Chelsea centre-back this summer.

The outlet points out that Juventus want Veiga available for the Club World Cup, but Spurs and Brighton could threaten that possibility, with both sides ready to offer the youngster a route back to the Premier League.

The Blues are said to be willing to sell the Portugal international for €28m (£24.1m) this summer. However, the Bianconeri have not shown any interest in a permanent deal for Veiga and are only interested in extending his loan.

Spurs and Juventus may be locked in another transfer battle

Veiga is not the only current on-loan Juventus player that Tottenham are eyeing ahead of the summer.

Over recent weeks, it has been widely reported that Spurs are ready to pounce on Randal Kolo Munai if the Old Lady do not take up the option to sign the forward permanently from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
