Tottenham weigh up bid for Arsenal star – and it isn’t Aaron Ramsey

Tottenham Hotspur became the first ever Premier League club to fail to sign a single new player in the summer transfer window this season.

Making no additions to the squad, it’s nothing short of a miracle that Spurs are enjoying their best ever start to a campaign.

However, Pochettino has been linked with moves for a number of European talents in recent weeks as the click ticks down to the new year.

It would seem logical for Spurs to invest at least a small amount of money in January to top up the squad, especially after the likes of Mousa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Michel Vorm and Fernando Llorente could all leave in the summer.

One position Spurs have needed to strengthen in for years now is the back up striker role.

Harry Kane has yet to really have a prolific partner up front to rely on when he needs a rest, or when he picks up an injury.

Roberto Soldado, Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente, none of them have exactly breathed confidence in a Spurs shirt.

However, The Sun now report that Tottenham are ready to make a £10m January bid for England and Arsenal star Danny Welbeck.

Welbeck is out of contract in the summer, and the North London club will likely look to get some money for him before it’s too late.

Spurs were linked with Welbeck back before he signed for Arsenal, but is this the kind of signing Poch should go for?
