Ramon Vega believes that all of Tottenham’s problems stem from one poor decision that they made before the season even started.
There is no light at the end of the tunnel for Spurs at the moment, with the Lilywhites sitting one point off the drop zone and winless in the Premier League since the start of 2026.
Their 5-2 loss in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid means that they are all but out of Europe.
They now have just nine league games to save their season, as Igor Tudor is now at risk of being sacked, less than a month after replacing Thomas Frank.

Ramon Vega claims Ange Postecoglou sacking is the reason for Tottenham’s woes
Vega believes that the Lilywhites heirarchy are paying for their decision to ‘disrespect’ Postecoglou by sacking him after the Europa League win last May.
The former Tottenham defender labelled the club’s board ‘dysfunctional and clueless’ for their decision to break the winning group that the Australian had created.
Vega wrote on X: “This is what you get when you disrespect a manager who won the Europa League Cup like Ange! The team is so dysfunctional and out of place everywhere! You break a winning team’s energy with a manager and on top of that a board that is dysfunctional and clueless! This Leadership is a disgrace!”
Spurs leadership have made one mistake after another
The decision to appoint Thomas Frank backfired spectacularly, after which Johan Lange said that he and the club’s top brass accept responsibility for their actions.
However, with Igor Tudor’s appointment also now blowing up in their faces, it raises questions about whether those making these calls are qualified to pick the club’s next head coach.
If Tottenham do end up getting relegated, their decision not to significantly strengthen the squad in January may go down as one of the biggest blunders in Premier League history.
