Tottenham will be big fans of what Alejo Veliz is doing over at Rosario Central

Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz is beginning to find his rhythm again in Argentina, with the young forward enjoying a strong run of form that will not have gone unnoticed back in north London.

Alejo Veliz’s time at Tottenham Hotspur has not entirely gone to plan for the 22-year-old, who has since returned to his hometown on loan until 2026.

The centre-forward, however, has hit the ground running in Argentina with a series of impressive performances that should do his confidence a world of good.

Veliz has been finding the back of the net of late, and he has once again delivered in Rosario Central’s latest league fixture.

Veliz extends scoring run for Rosario Central

In a league clash with Velez Sarsfield, Alejo Veliz was on target once more as Rosario Central claimed a 2-1 victory in Buenos Aires.

The Argentine centre forward joined his boyhood club midway through the 2025 season, and has now netted three goals in his last four appearances and four in his previous seven, underlining his growing influence in the side.

His fine form has played a key role in helping Central maintain their strong momentum this campaign.

Having finished top of the Torneo Apertura – losing just once during the league phase before being knocked out by Huracan – they remain unbeaten in the Torneo Clausura since the 22-year-old’s arrival.

Tottenham face decision over Alejo Veliz’s future

Tottenham will no doubt be encouraged to see Alejo Veliz rediscovering his scoring touch while out on loan, especially after his previous stints did little to inspire confidence.

The Argentine forward’s loan spells at Espanyol and Sevilla yielded just four goals in 35 appearances, a tally he looks set to surpass with ease if his current form continues.

Tottenham will have a decision to make regarding the striker’s long-term future come the summer of 2026, when his loan spell in Argentina expires, with Rosario Central holding no option to make Veliz’s loan move permanent.
