Tottenham will soon move for £43.2m winger who has left De Zerbi ‘very pleased’

Tottenham have given indications that they are prepared to make a move for a £43.2m teenage winger who set the Bundesliga alight last season.

Talks are reportedly advancing between Spurs and City on a £60m deal for Savinho, but the Brazilian may not be the only wide player to arrive through the door.

Tottenham are expected to sign multiple wingers this summer as they look to add fresh attacking impetus into their squad after struggling to create chances and score goals last season.

Over recent months, some sources have suggested that Spurs may reignite their interest in a 19-year-old Bundesliga star, whom they showed an interest in back in January, and the Lilywhites now appear to have done just that.

Tottenham will soon make a move for Said El Mala

The player in question is Said El Mala, who was mooted as a target for the Lilywhites earlier this summer, and the North Londoners have now seemingly stepped up their interest in the Cologne star.

This is according to Sport BILD (as relayed by Sport Witness), who say that Tottenham have given ‘indications’ that they ‘will soon make a move’ for the 19-year-old.

The winger was nearly unplayable for large parts of last season, ending the campaign with 13 goals and five assists across all competitions.

The report claims that Roberto De Zerbi is ‘very pleased’ with the scouting reports he has received on the youngster, and the belief at Tottenham is that the winger could be a key component of the Italian’s squad rebuild.

El Mala has already turned down Spurs’ London rivals

Sport BILD say that the Cologne man had already turned down a move to another Premier League club this summer. El Mala reportedly said no to Brentford, who were willing to meet the Bundesliga club’s €50m (£43.2m) valuation.

The teenager, who is represented by his mother rather than a professional player agent, is said to be waiting for ‘a better offer to arrive’.

Some sources from Germany have suggested over recent months that Brighton could challenge the Lilywhites for El Mala’s signature.
