Tottenham Hotspur’s search for attacking reinforcements continues to gather pace, with a new name emerging ahead of the summer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have yet to replace Harry Kane and his numbers since his departure about three seasons ago.

The former Spurs forward has already hit half a century of goals for Bayern Munich in all competitions this season, the same amount of goals Tottenham have scored in the league thus far.

It is clear that the North Londoners are missing Kane’s goals, and they could be turning to the transfer market to rectify that.

Tottenham transfers: Georges Mikautadze targeted in £51m deal

A report from Fichajes now claims that Tottenham are keen on securing the services of Villarreal forward Georges Mikautadze at the end of the season.

Spurs are looking to improve their attacking unit with a quality striker, and the 25-year-old has now been identified as a target.

Mikautadze has managed 11 goals for the Yellow Submarine, and while that is far from Harry Kane’s numbers, it is his versatility and ability to create chances that make him a unique option.

Tottenham are leading the race for the versatile forward, who has interest from multiple clubs, with Spurs prepared to offer close to £51 million (€60 million) to sign the player.

Spurs could benefit from Georges Mikautadze versatility

The signing of Mikautadze could help Tottenham manage better over the course of a season because of his versatility.

The 25-year-old is capable of featuring on both wings, as a striker and as a number ten, and such versatility can help a squad that is often stretched because of injuries.

We already know that Spurs need more options up front, given that they have failed to replace Brennan Johnson, and signing a player who allows for tactical flexibility could be a smart piece of business.
