Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly completed a deal to sign a former Arsenal academy player, but the player’s latest social media activity suggests otherwise.
Spurs have splashed the cash this summer to make top-class additions to their first team ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.
However, the club are also working to add more young talent to their academy. Reports indicate that Tottenham are advancing on a deal to sign 16-year-old Wolves prospect Kwasi Senyah.
Spurs have also signed midfield starlet Cole Ramsey following his exit from Aston Villa, with the highly rated 18-year-old being the younger brother of Newcastle’s Jacob Ramsey and Burnley’s Aaron Ramsey.

Tottenham have reportedly won the race for Kyran Thompson
The Daily Mail’s Isaan Khaan has taken to social media to reveal that Spurs have officially agreed a deal with Kyran Thompson, who departed Arsenal’s academy at the end of last season.
This comes after multiple reports claimed Tottenham were pushing to sign the Arsenal youth player last week.
The 16-year-old forward, who is capable of playing across the front three, made 28 appearances for the Gunners’ U18s last season. Thompson is said to be ‘extremely highly rated’ at the Emirates.
He also featured for the club’s U19s and U21s, which shows just how highly he was regarded at the Emirates, and his signing is thus a huge boost to the Spurs academy. Khan wrote on X: “Done deal: Kyran Thompson has signed with Spurs.”
However, the youngster’s recent social media activity seems to suggest that he may be on his way to another Premier League club.
Thompson spotted at Newcastle airport
Spurs were not the only ones after the former Arsenal winger, with reports over recent days saying that Newcastle were also pushing to land Thompson after his contract with the Gunners ran out.
Interestingly, the 16-year-old took to Instagram to post an image of himself walking into an airport on Tuesday, and Newcastle World confirm that the airport was Newcastle International.
This has fuelled speculation among many on social media that the Magpies may have hijacked the deal and secured Thompson’s services.
