‘Tottenham would take him’ – Troy Deeney urges clubs to snap up this Liverpool man

Watford legend, Troy Deeney, has claimed that Adam Lallana would walk into the vast majority of Premier League teams.

This comes as the Liverpool midfielder is out of contract at the end of this season, meaning that he may become available for a free transfer.

As a result, Tottenham have been linked with a summer move for the former-Southampton man (Telegraph), a player who is greatly admired by Deeney.

While Deeney ruled out Man City as a destination due to an overpopulation in midfield talent, the Watford striker claimed that Man United, Spurs, Everton, and Chelsea would all take him.

Lallana has played a total of 22 games for Liverpool this season, although that only amounts to 373 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League (TransferMarkt).

Liverpool bought Lallana in 2014 off the back of an impressive season with Southampton in which he played 42 games, scored 10, and assisted eight (TransferMarkt). In his career, the 31-year-old has played 447 games and scored 82 goals (Wikipedia).

Troy Deeney had this to say on the 34-cap England international (The United Stand): “I think they’re [Liverpool] a phenomenal team. I do look at teams like Liverpool and go, ‘where do you improve?’.

“Lallana they’re letting go now – I was just chatting about this with my mates in our group chat – Lallana walks into 90% of teams.

“Other than Man City, he could play for Man City but I think they’re overpopulated… you would take him at United. He’d be in the squad and 100% he improves the squad.

“Lallana can play anywhere across the front line. Tottenham would take him, Everton… Chelsea, yeah.”
