Tottenham yellow card update: Is Igor Tudor at risk of losing more Spurs players?

We take a closer look at how close members of the Tottenham squad are to incurring a yellow card suspension as Igor Tudor takes charge of the club.

Tudor already has to manage with double-digit absences at Tottenham at the moment, due to the injury crisis and the suspension of Cristian Romero.

The Croat has a huge challenge first up, with table-topping Arsenal coming to N17 for the North London derby.

Spurs had a poor disciplinary record under Frank, and that is something that the 47-year-old would want to fix as he tries to get the club out of relegation trouble.

Cristian Romero is at risk of yet another Tottenham suspension

After receiving his second red card of the season against Man United, Romero will miss three more matches for Spurs, having already sat out the club’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle last week.

The Argentine is ruled out until matchweek 29 of the Premier League, but he is in danger of being suspended for two more matches when he returns.

Premier League’s rules state that players who accumulate 10 bookings on or before the 32nd league fixture have to serve a two-match suspension.

With Romero already on eight yellow cards, he will have to sit out two more matches if he receives more than one yellow card in the three matches against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland.

Are any other Spurs players in danger of a suspension?

The two other Tottenham players closest to a suspension are Micky van de Ven and Joao Palhinha, who are on six bookings each.

That means that the Portuguese international and the Dutchman will both have to avoid getting booked more than three times in the next six league matches to avoid a two-match suspension.

Pedro Porro and Rodrigo Bentancur are sitting on five yellow cards each, but both players are currently out injured.
