Tottenham youngster joins National League side on a 6-month loan

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Josh Keeley has agreed to join Barnet on loan until the end of the current season, with a view to gaining valuable first-team experience.

Josh Keeley is a Tottenham academy player who joined the club from St Patrick’s Athletic in his native Ireland last summer.

The 20-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Lilywhites but did travel with the senior squad on their last two pre-season tours.

Keeley made nine appearances for the Spurs Under-21 side so far this season, and while he conceded just three goals in six games in the Premier League 2, he did concede seven goals in three games in the EFL Trophy (Transfermarkt).

The youngster made 21 appearances for the development side last term, keeping two clean sheets in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

2023 was a good year for Keeley on the international front, having started all but two of the Republic of Ireland Under-21’s fixtures last year (Transfermarkt).

Josh Keeley completes loan move to Barnet

With the pipeline to the first team limited at Tottenham, thanks to the form of Guglielmo Vicario and the likes of Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin, and Alfie Whiteman in reserve, Keeley has now made the decision to move on, albeit temporarily, and play first team football.

The club has today announced Keeley will join National League side Barnet until the end of the season. Barnet are currently in third place in the table down in the fifth tier of English football, but are a mere three points off second-placed Bromley with a game in hand.

Hopefully, this move will be a productive one for Josh Keeley and he can really get some regular game time at Barnet. Who knows, he may even be able to celebrate helping the team get promoted to the Football League come the end of the season.
