Tottenham youngster named as number 23 on list of football’s top 50 next wonderkids

Goal.com have released their annual NXGN list of the world’s best wonderkids, with new Spurs signing Lucas Bergvall making the cut.

There is plenty of excitement back in Sweden about Bergvall, with the youngster being seen by many as the next potential breakout start from the Scandinavian country.

Despite being just 18 years of age, the young midfielder is regularly dominating matches for Djurgardens and has taken the Allsvenskan by storm, having already broken into the national side.

Lucas Bergvall is one of the best youngsters in football

The teenager will link up with the Tottenham squad ahead of the start of next season and Spurs fans will be hoping that he can go on to fulfil his potential under the watchful eyes of Ange Postecoglou.

It has been reported by some sources that Bergvall is expected to be handed a prominent first-team role at the North London club next season (Football Insider).

Unsurprisingly, the midfielder has now found himself in Goal.com NXGN list, which ranks the 50 best wonderkids in the world born after January 1, 2005, with the Tottenham man being ranked in 23rd place.

It is worth noting that two rumoured Tottenham targets, Antonio Nusa and Roony Bardghji, have also made the list, with the Norwegian being ranked in 11th place and the Swede in 13th.

I would not be surprised if Spurs pursue more players from this list of 50, with Johan Lange making it clear that the club want to sign the best young players in world football.
