Tottenham youngster wants to win major trophy this season out on loan

Harvey White has been speaking to the Derby Telegraph about his loan spell with Derby County, and revealed he has one ambition to fulfil before he returns to Tottenham Hotspur – to take Derby to the top of League One.

White is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur academy and has developed through the youth system to find himself on the fringes of Antonio Conte’s first-team plans already.

He has three appearances for the senior squad overall (Transfermarkt) and has occupied the Spurs bench a number of times this season.

To continue his development and maximise playing time, the youngster was sent out on loan in the January transfer window, joining high-flying League One side Derby to aid their promotion hopes.

The 21-year-old had to settle for appearances from the bench at first, but made his first start for Derby over the weekend in a 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic.

He has now turned out four times for his new club (Transfermarkt) and clearly wants to press on and achieve great things with the Rams.

On the game at the weekend, White said: “Amazing. In front of 30,000, getting the win, it felt really good.”

He continues to discuss his own development, stating: “Obviously I knew that before coming here but they are top lads as well, off the pitch, talking to me, learning from them that way.

“Then on the pitch, playing with them, training sessions, it’s very good so far and it will continue to get better as well.

“For me personally, I just want to keep playing football and keep improving. And then, obviously, we want to win the league. If we can’t do that – there’s no reason why we can’t do that – then automatics definitely.”

It won’t be easy for Derby to catch the top two teams in League One, but they have a very good shot at getting promotion through the playoffs.

Still, it’s encouraging to hear White harbouring such big ambitions for his new club and hopefully, he can have a successful spell with Derby.
