Tottenham’s £15m man left out of squad

Tottenham centre-mid Victor Wanyama has been left out of the Kenya national squad for their upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana.

Wanyama has been side-lined through a knee injury since early pre-season and has only just started training with the first team again.

He had been included in the provisional squad, with the hope that he would recover, but has been left out of the final 24-man list.

Head coach Sebastien Migne said: “We know Victor has been injured and it will not be possible to have him. Today is Wednesday, three days to the match, and if we were to have him, he would be here,” said the head coach as he announced the 24-man squad.

“But I think we should have some professionalism [at the KFA] because I see [Wanyama’s French teammate at Tottenham] Lloris Hugo was injured and he had to go to Paris to be checked by the national team doctors. So in future this is something we should consider.”
