Tottenham’s 2020/21 campaign has already taken a blow thanks to North London rivals

Tottenham Hotspur’s first-team will have hardly spared a thought towards the 2020/21 campaign yet as they depart for their short holidays ahead of the new season.

However, the Lilywhites’ year has already taken a hit thanks to their North London rivals Arsenal and their success in the FA Cup Final this evening.

Tottenham secured Europa League football on the final day of the season by overtaking Wolves with a 1-1 away draw against Crystal Palace.

However, Jose Mourinho’s men would have still been rooting for Chelsea in the FA Cup Final today as a Blues win represented an easier start to their 20/21 European campaign.

A Chelsea win would have seen Arsenal miss out on the Europa League and Spurs put straight into the group stages of the competition on October 22.

However, a Gunners victory sees them qualify for Europe, forcing Spurs to play out three Europa League fixtures before the group stage.

As relayed by The Sun, Spurs will now have to play a second qualifying round match on September 17, a third qualifying round match on September 24, and a play-off on October 1 to even put their name in the group stage draw.
