Tottenham’s away record in the last ten games makes for extremely grim reading

The conventional wisdom among fans and pundits at the moment seems to be that Tottenham are suffering this season due to their failure to get rid of players who don’t wish to be at the club.

However, the fact is that it is not just this season that Spurs have begun poorly but the results have been terrible for quite a while now.

Tottenham were extremely poor away from home in the second half of last season as well and that form has bled into the beginning of this season.

BT Sport posted Tottenham’s away record in their last ten away fixtures and the numbers make for really grim reading.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have drawn two and lost eight of their last ten away games including defeats to the likes of Burnley, Southampton, and Bournemouth.

In those games, the Lilywhites have managed to score just eight times and have conceded an alarming nineteen goals. Spurs have not won an away game in the Premier League in nine months.

Spurs Web Opinion

This record is something you would associate with a side that is destined to go down instead of a top-six side. While the Champions League run was perhaps one of the reasons for the poor record towards the end of last season, this still shows that the team have been playing poorly for a while now. Fixing our away form certainly doesn’t look like it is going to be a quick fix.
