Tottenham Hotspur showed their class by offering major support to a local non‑league club, providing a timely boost for the season ahead after sending one of their youngsters there on loan.
Tottenham Hotspur are currently one of the richest clubs in the world, given the amount of money the club generates from their stadium and several other activities around the club.
This summer, Spurs finally looked to show some ambition in the transfer market by signing players for big money as they looked to bolster their squad and avoid relegation from the Premier League.
But Tottenham did not just focus on bringing players in – they also moved several stars out, either permanently or on loan, in transfer business that helped strengthen the club’s coffers.
Amongst those sent on loan was 18‑year‑old goalkeeper Dylan Thompson, who joined Spurs’ lower‑league neighbours Enfield Town for his first loan experience.

Tottenham’s classy gesture as they deliver huge help to Enfield Town
The shot‑stopper managed a clean sheet as Enfield racked up a 4-0 win against Frenford in the FA Cup last weekend.
However, before taking to the pitch, the Isthmian League Premier Division side tweeted about something else Spurs had done for them, after the Premier League club delivered a massive boost for their pitch at the Dave Bryant Stadium.
Their tweet read: “MASSIVE THANK YOU to our near neighbours @SpursOfficial for providing us with 38 bags of feed to help us through in looking after our playing surface at The DBS.”
This gesture hardly comes as a surprise, as Tottenham have often shown support for the non‑league side.
In fact, Spurs’ under‑21 development squad regularly open their summer pre‑season fixtures with a game at Enfield – a match that fetches significant revenue for the non‑league club, with attendance regularly exceeding 1,000 each summer as the first friendly of the new season.
Spurs spokesperson explains long‑standing support for Enfield Town
Writing about Spurs’ support for Enfield, one spokesperson said in comments relayed by football.london: “The club has a long‑standing relationship with Enfield Town and the provision of pitch feed is one example of the practical support we provide to our near neighbours,” said a Spurs spokesperson.
“Our grounds team regularly supports Enfield Town with equipment and pitch maintenance materials, including fertiliser, seed and other supplies, to help maintain their playing surface.
“There is a strong crossover between the two clubs’ supporter bases, and we regularly support Enfield Town’s fundraising and community activity by providing club ambassadors, memorabilia and community tickets for events. The support is part of our wider commitment to working positively with our local neighbours and supporting the sustainability of grassroots and community football in the area.”
