Dane Scarlett draws Berbatov comparisons in first games away from Tottenham

Dane Scarlett’s latest outing on loan has quickly caught the eye, with the Tottenham Hotspur forward drawing strong reactions from fans of Hibernian following his most recent display in Scotland.

Dane Scarlett has begun to settle into life away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following his loan move during the winter window.

The Spurs forward has made it clear that his aim in Scotland is to score more goals, just as he has done at the youth level for England.

So far, since his move to the Scottish Premiership, the forward has played 82 minutes; however, it is his latest display against Dundee United that has caught the attention of Hibernian supporters.

Tottenham loanee Dane Scarlett impresses in Dundee United clash

Scarlett grabbed an assist during Hibernian’s clash with Dundee United, helping to set up Martin Boyle’s opener in the 36th minute.

The on-loan Spurs star dropped deep to receive the ball before peeling off to the right and playing a sideways pass to Boyle, who shot from inside the box to find the back of the net.

It was a well-worked team goal, but it is Scarlett’s overall performance that left many Hibernian fans excited. Tottenham supporters will love these reactions:

Reacting to his display, supporters took to social media to comment, with one saying: “Ante Suto and Scarlett take us to the promised land boys.” Another added, “Dane Scarlett needs to play the full 90 against Hearts. Boy is phenomenal.”

One more stated: “Here @SpursOfficial much ye want for Dane Scarlett?” while another commented: “Dane Scarlett Jesus Christ what a player. Ach, time to whip this back out.”

Meanwhile, another fan is already falling in love: “Know you should never fall in love with a loan player, especially one we would never be able to afford, but Dane Scarlett is a player!”

The praises kept coming for the Tottenham striker, with a fan commenting: “Dane Scarlett is a monster btw.” Another added: “That is an outstanding first-half performance from Scarlett.”

Another commented: “Poor half that shapes no right at all. Dane Scarlett tho – sort of wage is he on? That is a player n a half.”

One more added: “Dane Scarlett what a player he looks. Touch like Berbatov.” while a final simply said: “Dane Scarlett can play.”

Scarlett’s Spurs loan spell showing promise

Scarlett featured for just 63 minutes, but that is a significant jump compared to the 19 minutes of playing time he had against Rangers on February 1.

His performance was a strong one, with the underlying numbers supporting that display, as Scarlett earned a 7.5 rating for Hibernian in his first start for the club.

He was also heavily involved throughout, registering four total shots, completing 13 of 15 accurate passes (87%), creating three chances, recording 31 touches, 10 of which were in the opposition box, he played four passes into the final third, and one accurate long ball from two attempts (50%).
