Tottenham’s hopes of a Harry Kane reunion are under threat from a European giant

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Harry Kane has just got a lot harder after the latest update on what a European giant has planned.

It has been reported over recent weeks that Tottenham insiders continue to believe that Kane will return to the club next summer.

This is despite the fact that Kane has suggested that he could stay at Bayern Munich beyond the end of the season.

Spurs Web has relayed a number of reports over the past month suggesting that Barcelona are ready to challenge Spurs for the England captain’s signature, and there has now been an update on the Catalan giants’ stance.

Barcelona make Tottenham legend Harry Kane their top target

The Guardian now claim that Barca have now made Bayern Munich their number one target to replace Robert Lewandowski next summer.

With Lewandowski’s contract running out in June, the La Liga club consider the 32-year-old to be the ideal replacement and are prepared to trigger his £57m release clause in the summer.

The report adds that despite the fact that Kane has expressed his intention to continue at Bayern, the prospect of moving to Camp Nou at the end of the season could entice him.

Spurs are prepared to do everything in their power to land Kane

It has been reported by a number of outlets that Tottenham want to make Kane their marquee signing in the post-Daniel Levy era, with ENIC keen to signal their ambition.

Some updates have claimed that Spurs would be willing to break the bank to sign their record goalscorer next summer.

It was reported by journalist Pete O’Rourke a month and a half ago that Tottenham are hoping to pull on Kane’s heartstrings by proposing a romantic reunion and the prospect of breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record.
