Tottenham Hotspur have a number of impressive youngsters on their books at the moment, but Juan Foyth is beginning to stand out as a particularly exciting prospect.

The young Argentine has enjoyed somewhat of a breakthrough season under Mauricio Pochettino, having been trusted in 15 games already this campaign.

This is a vast improvement compared to his eight matches last season, as Foyth is beginning to grow in his role at the club.

Weekend Sport have now revealed on Twitter that Foyth is actually leading the way in one particular Premier League stat.

The 21-year-old is particularly confident with his feet, which reflects in the fact that Foyth boasts the greatest number of take-ons for central defenders in the League.

This becomes even more impressive once you realise Foyth played under half the number of games of some other centre-backs.

While many will want Foyth to play smart rather than trying to beat players at the back, it is a mark of both his talent and confidence.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I am not convinced that Foyth’s future lies in the centre-back position, as I have been more impressed with him at right-back. I believe the Argentine could also do a job as a central midfielder, if given the chance.

  1. I’m in agreement over him making a quality cm in the long term and despite his sometimes rash nature I’m genuinely excited about his future. If one of Wanyama or Dier were to be sold this summer then I’d like to see Foyth given a shot at playing their. We’ve also got Luke Amos coming back to full fitness over the summer and will have Oliver Skipp in full swing next season too after impressing this season. The addition of a potential new signing such as Tielsmann, Rabiot or someone along those lines and will have a decent midfield line up again
