Tottenham’s next five Premier League fixtures compared to top four rivals

Tottenham have dropped out of the top four in the Premier League table following their 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, which is their third successive defeat. Here is a look at Postecoglou’s next five fixtures in the league compared to Spurs’ top-four rivals.

Spurs’ impressive start to the season seems like a thing of the past, with the loss against Aston Villa marking their third successive defeat.

VAR and Emiliano Martinez denied Spurs what would have been a deserved win, as the Lilywhites were dominant for much of the game.

Villa managed to find the net when it mattered the most though, consigning Postecoglou to his third straight defeat. It’s all the more disappointing when you remember that, a few weeks ago, the North London club were top of the table and now they find themselves out of the top four.

The good thing for Spurs is they are still just four points from the summit. They face Manchester City next and will be looking to get back to winning ways in something of a six-pointer. Around them, Arsenal managed to get a win but City and Liverpool shared the spoils this weekend.

Spurs Web Opinion

Three consecutive losses in three games is not helping Spurs’ impressive start to the season but by no means have we put out bad performances. It is just a reflection of the lack of squad depth that is hurting us when we have the first-choice players unavailable.

Facing Manchester City next is not the most ideal scenario to get out of jail but what better way to do it, than beating the defending champions on their home turf? It’s time for us to stick around, be optimistic and continue supporting Postecoglou’s project.
