Tottenham Hotspur made a real statement in the Premier League today as they remarkably came from behind to defeat Man United 6-1 at Old Trafford.
Davinson Sanchez gave away a penalty within the first 30 seconds of the match, with Bruno Fernandes dispatching from the spot as he so often does.
However, the Red Devils then faced a Tottenham tidal wave in the first half, with Tanguy Ndombele equalising with a scruffy goal just minutes later.
Shortly after, Heung-min Son raced through and made it 2-1 after a quick free-kick from Harry Kane.
United were then reduced to ten men after Martial was shown a red card for hitting Lamela in the face, just two minutes before Spurs scored their third through Kane.
Son added a fourth before half-time, with Serge Aurier and Harry Kane making it 6-1 in a training match of a second-half for the Lilywhites.
Following the full-time whistle, the Tottenham Hotspur Twitter admin posted a cheeky nod toward a famous Sir Alex Ferguson quote.
Roy Keane recalled in 2018 that Ferguson came in the dressing room before the game and simply said to his players, ‘Lads, it’s Tottenham’.
