A new report has shed light on whether Tottenham are considering upgrading on Guglielmo Vicario in January.
Vicario was booed repeatedly by Tottenham fans after his poor judgment led to Fulham’s second goal, which is not the Italian’s first mistake of the season.
Thomas Frank leapt to the defence of his number one, labelling the fans’ decision to boo him as ‘unacceptable’.
However, Vicario himself was more philosophical about the treatment by Spurs fans, insisting that the supporters had a right to express their feelings.

Will Tottenham replace Guglielmo Vicario in January?
It has been reported over recent weeks that Spurs are studying the possibility of signing a new goalkeeper in January.
However, a new update from TEAMtalk has claimed that any new goalkeeper that the Lilywhites bring in will be signed with the intention of serving as the Italian’s understudy.
The report says that the 28-year-old is seen as an ‘integral’ part of the ongoing project at N17. In fact, it is alleged that the former Empoli man is even seen as a future captaincy candidate alongside James Maddison.
The outlet concludes that Vicario’s mistake against the Cottagers is not expected to change the minds of Tottenham’s decision makers.
Spurs fans need some perspective on Vicario
There is no doubt that the number one quality one wants in a goalkeeper is reliability, and the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper will be the first to admit that he has made one too many mistakes this term.
However, one should also not forget that Vicario has delivered several Man of the Match performances this season and has single-handedly kept Tottenham in matches.
Were it not for the Italian’s heroics, Spurs’ away form this season will not look as good as it does, and the Lilywhites could easily have lost their two away Champions League matches against Bodo/Glimt and Monaco.
