Tottenham’s plans for pre-season could see them face British club

The season may not be over yet, but Tottenham Hotspur are already thinking ahead to the pre-season schedule. Along with another tour to South Korea it seems the North London side could be ready to venture up to Scotland for a friendly, too.

The Tottenham first team squad will have all their attention firmly placed on the final 12 games of this Premier League season, with the battle for a spot in the top four (or more) currently the priority.

Ange Postecoglou will be ensuring that the next game is all his players are thinking about, particularly the upcoming fixture against fourth-placed Aston Villa on Sunday—a game that could prove crucial in that fight for Champions League qualification.

However, the club is a powerhouse across the globe now, and chairman Daniel Levy will no doubt be considering the profile of Tottenham Hotspur when lining up the arrangements for pre-season.

Where are Tottenham playing in pre-season?

According to Alasdair Gold, we now have a good idea of what those plans for the off-season entail, with another trip to Asia on the cards. But, before that, a potential trip North of the border.

Gold tweeted: “Understand Spurs could potentially play a pre-season friendly in Scotland ahead of their three-game Asia tour this summer as Ange Postecoglou gets his squad ready for next season.”

When these games will take place remains to be seen, and games will have to take into account the schedule of Euro 2024, too, of course.

Football.London reported last month that Tottenham are set to face Bayern Munich in South Korea on August 2, along with a friendly with Team K League in a K League All-Star game which has been scheduled for July 28. Details of the third fixture are yet to be revealed.

If Spurs do indeed head to Scotland, it will be the first time they have played there since the Lilywhites lifted the Walter Tull Memorial Cup after beating Rangers back in July 2022.

Spurs Web Opinion

I can’t imagine they would, but just think of the atmosphere if we set up a friendly against Celtic and Postecoglou went back to his old stomping ground. It will be interesting to see who we do play in pre-season, regardless.

Hopefully, the club also decide to play a pre-season fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to give those who are not a season ticket holder the chance to see their heroes play at an affordable price.
