‘Touchy and spicy’ – Pundit shares what he has noticed from Conte’s recent interviews

Jamie O’Hara has noticed Antonio Conte getting ‘touchy and spicy’ in press conferences when discussing Tottenham’s need to improve the squad.

The Italian head coach is currently undergoing his first transfer window as Tottenham boss and the Lilywhites are expected to be active.

Conte has allegedly shortlisted a handful of positions to focus on this month, with a new wing-back and a striker heading a checklist of priorities.

The ex-Inter Milan boss today stated that he has held a meeting with Paratici and Levy over the January transfer window, but will let the club make any decisions as to what happens next.

Former Spurs midfielder O’Hara backs Conte’s view to improve, but has also noticed that the 52-year-old has appeared agitated when pressed on the subject in recent press conferences.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “Have you noticed his interviews are getting a little bit touchy and spicy when talking about improving the side?

“We need to make some signings – if Spurs want to compete and fight for that top four we keep saying that we can get in.

“Some of the players are just not good enough and the fans have turned on them. Because we’ve got a world-class manager, the whole highlight goes onto the players. Some of them are just not at the races.”
