We’re about to enter December, so that must mean that the transfer rumour mill is about to kick into action and today has seen the start of it.
Junior Hoilett – have you heard of him? He’s the young Blackburn striker who we were linked with last month. The 21-year-old is out of contract at Ewood Park in the summer and is attracting the interest from a number of clubs including Newcastle United.
The Canadian international was born and raised in Canada and has scored 3 goals in 12 Premier League appearances for Steve Kean’s strugglers this term.
Harry is known for his shrewd dealings in the transfer market and if we can bag the pacey Hoilett on a free then it gives us another attacking option without having Danny boy to cash a cheque. Roman Palvlyuchenko and Giovani dos Santos are both expected to move on sooner rather than later, so Harry is expected to bring in another frontman.
“He (Hoilett) is a good player,” said Redknapp at the pre-match press conference. “We have never made any enquiries for him, but he has been an exciting little player this year.”
