Transfer target receives high praise from former Spurs boss

Jack Grealish has been in sensational form for Aston Villa recently after returning from a shin injury that kept him out of action for two months.

The midfielder who has notched up four goals and five assists so far this season has proven yet again that he is one of the best young talents in English football.

The 23-year-old was linked with a move to Spurs throughout last summer’s transfer window but the move fell through in the end after Villa were bought by new owners (talkSPORT)

The middle of midfield is one area where Spurs will need reinforcements in the summer following the sale of Mousa Dembele, but it remains to be seen if Spurs will go back in for Grealish.

Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has spoken very highly of the Villa’s midfielder’s talent and suggested that he is good enough to play at any level.

Speaking to The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT, Redknapp said: “Apparently they were going to take him, weren’t they? The club was in trouble and maybe Daniel (Levy) thought he could really get him very cheap.

“Then the new owners came into Villa and they didn’t need the money suddenly. I love Grealish, I think he’s a real talent, honestly. I love watching him play. I think he’s a kid who could play at the very top level.”
