Transfer that was said to be agreed now deemed ‘unlikely’ for Spurs

According to a report by Sky Sports Germany, AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek is unlikely to move to Tottenham this month.

Spurs were said to keen on adding a striker to their squad following the hamstring injury sustained by Harry Kane and Piatek was one of the targets the club were said to be pursuing.

In fact, the Sun reported on Thursday night that Spurs had agreed a £28 million transfer fee with Milan for the transfer of the Polish international and that he was said to be ready to undergo a medical.

The striker got off to a good start to his Milan career following his transfer from Genoa last January but much like the rest of the Rossoneri side, he has underperformed this season.

The Sun reported that the 24-year-old centre forward was likely to sign a three and a half a year contract with the Lilywhites in the next few days but this latest report by Sky Sports casts doubt on the deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Kane now set to be out for a few months, we desperately need to bring a centre forward this month. We haven’t seen enough of Parrott to know if he is ready yet but at 17 years of age, common sense would suggest that it is too early to rely on him to be Kane’s understudy. Piatek fits the bill for what we need but as with any deal involving Spurs, I wouldn’t be surprised if this dragged on till the final day of the transfer window.
