Triple injury boost for Tottenham as Thomas Frank reveals key trio are available again

Tottenham prepare for another London derby under Thomas Frank, with Chelsea set to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend, and the Dane has provided an injury update on his squad.

Spurs head into the clash with just two wins from their last five matches in all competitions, recording one defeat and three draws in that period.

Frank’s men were recently knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle United, a result that halted their momentum following a strong away victory over Everton, which extended their unbeaten away run in the league.

Now, the focus turns to the Premier League, as Tottenham look to steady their form in what promises to be a fierce contest against their city rivals.

Thomas Frank provides Tottenham injury update ahead of Chelsea clash

Chelsea boasts a strong recent record against Tottenham, having won the last four meetings between the sides.

Enzo Maresca’s men come into this fixture on the back of a 4-3 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup, a result that sent them into the next round.

In the league, however, Chelsea sit ninth in the Premier League table, three points behind Spurs in third place, following a disappointing defeat to Sunderland.

Frank will be eager to compound Maresca’s frustrations on Saturday, but with Spurs’ home record and their mounting injury list, it may prove a difficult task.

Tottenham are currently without eleven outfield players, including four key leadership figures.

Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, Yves Bissouma, Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai are among those sidelined, while Archie Gray joined the list before the Newcastle defeat.

Wilson Odobert was also absent from the squad against the Magpies, further worsening the club’s fitness situation.

Fans will hope several of their stars can return for the Chelsea clash, and Frank has now provided an update on the condition of his Tottenham squad.

Speaking to Football London, he said: “The positive news is that [Cristian] Romero, Destiny [Udogie] and Wilson [Odobert] are available for selection for Saturday.”
