Trippier, Wimmer, Joe Hart and others react to Son Heung-min’s hat-trick 

A host of current and former Tottenham players have praised Son Heung-min on social media following his hat-trick against Leicester. 

Antonio Conte left Son out of the starting lineup for the first time this season on Saturday on the back of his sub-par displays in the first eight games.

The South Korean came on for Richarlison just before the hour mark and proved the old adage: form is temporary but class is permanent. 

The forward netted a 13-minute hat-trick, which included two terrific strikes into the top corner with either foot.

Conte admitted after the game that it was a difficult decision to leave Son out of the team and the Spurs boss expressed his delight at the forward’s response, remarking that the team needed him back in form (Football.London).

After scoring the hat-trick, the 30-year-old posted an image of himself on Instagram with the match ball, including the caption: “When life gives you lemons… score a hat-trick. Love you all and thank you for the support, always #COYS “

Several former and present Spurs stars congratulated the forward, including Kevin Wimmer, who responded with a comment that read: ‘Number one’, while Kieran Trippier commented: ‘Well done bro’.

Joe Hart responded with a heart emoji, as did Fraser Forster, while Tottenham legend Robbie Keane wrote: ‘never in doubt’

Sergio Reguilon, Japhet Tanganga, Alfie Devine, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Carlos Vinciuis also praised Son for his hat-trick against the Foxes.

Spurs Web Opinion

This outpouring of appreciation, as well as the reaction of his teammates when he scored those goals on Saturday, show just how loved Son is by his peers. If the past is anything to go by, we all know that the floodgates are now likely to open for the South Korean in front of goal over the coming weeks.
