Tottenham told ‘perfect’ manager would turn things around in just 3 months

Troy Deeney believes that there is one outstanding candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur, opining that the manager in question would change the culture at the North London side.

While Andoni Iraola is thought to be Tottenham’s top choice to replace Ange Postecoglou, reports over recent weeks have claimed that Spurs could turn to Marco Silva if they cannot get Iraola.

In fact, some sources have alleged that Silva could be Tottenham’s top managerial target, with the Portuguese coach thought to have many admirers at Hotspur Way.

Fulham still find themselves with an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League, which would be an outstanding achievement for the former Watford boss, but it has now been suggested that the Cottagers might struggle to keep him at the club beyond the summer.

Troy Deeney explains why Marco Silva is perfect for Tottenham

Deeney, who worked with Silva at Watford, believes that his former manager is now ready to take on a really big job like the Tottenham Hotspur hot seat.

In fact, the pundit suggested that the 47-year-old is the perfect choice to implement the cultural changes that Spurs are crying out for but remarked that he needs to be given the power to run things his own way without any interference from the top.

When asked if Silva is ready to take on a challenge like the Tottenham job, Deeny told talkSPORT: “Marco is more than ready. The biggest compliment you could take for Marco Silva is that, if you look at all the people that are around him – his staff – they’ve been poached because they (other clubs) want Marco Silva, but they go and get the people off his branches.

“He’s ready for a big team. I think he’d be perfect for Spurs if they would allow him to just go and take over and not get involved too much from up above.

“I think he’d change the culture of that place within three months. Marco is definitely ready. Fulham are on a good trajectory but I think they’ll struggle to keep him long term.”

Fulham are determined to keep hold of Marco Silva

However, despite the growing interest in their manager’s services, the Cottagers are reportedly determined to keep him at the club.

It has been reported over recent weeks that Fulham are ready to offer Silva an improved contract to ward off Tottenham’s interest.

The same update claimed that the West London club are also prepared to back their manager this summer with the signings he needs in an effort to convince him that he can fulfil his ambitions at Craven Cottage.
