Troy Parrott explains what his Spurs debut meant to him on Twitter

Tottenham Hotspur began their pre-season tour in the best possible way when they kicked things off with a victory.

Harry Kane’s stunning injury time goal from the halfway line to secure the 3-2 win will have stolen the headlines, but there was certainly an impressive performance from a team-mate during the first half.

Maurico Pochettino showed his faith in 17-year-old Troy Parrott by handing him a start against Italian giants Juventus.

Parrott certainly did not let his manager down with an energetic performance and was not phased by the occasion.

He showed composure well beyond his tender years and linked with with the likes of Erik Lamela and Heung-min Son.

The Irish youngster played a key part in the first goal of the game when he made an overlapping run for Heung-min Son and fired a shot across Buffon which the veteran could only palm into the path of Lamela to tap home.

After the match, Parrott took to Twitter to share his thoughts on featuring for the senior side for the very first time.

Hopefully, he gets another chance on Thursday to impress against Manchester United in Shanghai.
