Troy Parrott reveals why he chose to join Preston on loan from Spurs this summer

Spurs youngster Troy Parrott has joined Championship side Preston North End on a season-long loan, and in his first interview with the club he revealed why he chose the Lancashire side as his home for the upcoming campaign.

The 20-year-old was in South Korea earlier this month for Tottenham’s pre-season tour, picking up minutes against Team K-League and Sevilla.

Parrott didn’t feature against Rangers at the weekend and didn’t travel to Glasgow at all due to his imminent loan move (Football.London).

Parrott spent last season on loan at MK Dons in League One, and enjoyed a successful spell, producing 10 goals and seven assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

However, the plan was always for the striker to step up to the Championship this season (Football.London).

Tottenham Hotspur announced the young star had signed a new contract with the club until 2025, before confirming his loan move to Preston. In an interview with Preston’s official website, Parrott described the decision as a ‘no-brainer’.

He said: “I’m buzzing to get going, to come in and see the place, meet the lads and get going really.

“I spoke to the manager first of all. I like the sound of how the team wants to play, they want to create a lot of chances which for me is a no-brainer really, and obviously the Irish boys here also helps.

“I’ve been speaking to Browney [Alan Browne] and Robbie [Brady] and just asking what it’s like around the place and they’ve had nothing but good things to say, so I’m happy to be here.”
