Troy Parrott sums up nearly scoring his first goal for Spurs in just three words

Troy Parrott was once again handed the chance to impress by Mauricio Pochettino when he featured in second half of the Audi Cup semi final against Real Madrid yesterday evening.

The 17-year-old academy product has already caught the eye during the club’s earlier tour of the Far East when he featured against both Juventus and Manchester United.

Parrott came off the bench in the 66th minute of the match at the Allianz Arena replacing Harry Kane who had given his side the lead in the first half when he capitalised on a defensive error from Marcelo.

He came inches from scoring against the Spanish giants when his shot back across goal which had already beaten Keylor Navas cruelly struck the post to deny the Republic of Ireland youngster.

After the match, Parrott posted a photo on his Instagram story of himself reacting to the disappointment of seeing his effort denied along with the caption ‘just go in’.

Hopefully, Spurs fans will get another opportunity to see the highly-promising talent in action during tonight’s final against Bayern Munich.
