Two ex-Tottenham managers argue over whether Spurs can win the league

Tottenham finally put an end to their awful September run yesterday as they beat Brighton 2-1 on the south coast.

This pulled Spurs clear of the likes of Manchester United, who drew to Wolves yesterday, and Arsenal, who play Everton today.

Spurs now sit in fifth place, six points behind 100% record leaders Liverpool.

A penalty from Harry Kane, and a superb swept finish from Erik Lamela proved to be the difference in the match, despite a late scare after Knockaert pulled one back.

The pundits in the BT Sport studio, Harry Redknapp and Glenn Hoddle both debated over whether this Tottenham team could win the league.

Both ex-Tottenham managers, they are both keen to see the Lilywhites do well, but a frustrated Hoddle admitted that the current crop are unable to win the title.

Harry Redknapp however insisted that he had no idea how Tottenham could improve their squad, as the starting XI is already so strong.

This is part of the reason Pochettino and Levy decided to keep a settled squad for this season, becoming the first Premier League club in history not to buy a player in the summer transfer window.
