A new report has shed light on Roberto De Zerbi’s plans for the number nine role at Tottenham next season.
Tottenham struggled for goals across 2025-26, scoring just 48 times across 38 Premier League matches, and they almost paid the ultimate price, escaping relegation by the skin of their teeth on the final day of the season.
Roberto De Zerbi made it clear that the squad needs significant reinforcements this summer, and one would assume that the Italian will be keen on adding more firepower upfront.
Randal Kolo Muani’s forgettable loan spell at N17 is over, and it has been suggested over recent weeks that Richarlison could be on his way out of Spurs.

Tottenham could sell Richarlison and Dominic Solanke while promoting young striker
A new update from TEAMtalk also confirms that De Zerbi’s men are expected to part ways with Richarlison even though he finished as the club’s top scorer last season with 12 goals.
Interestingly, the website claims that Dominic Solanke, who missed the majority of the campaign due to injury, also faces an uncertain future at Tottenham.
The report adds that Will Lankshear, who had an oustanding loan spell at Oxford United, is expected to be promoted to the first-team.
The 21-year-old found the back of the net 14 times for the Championship outfit last season, and recently, the Spurs academy graduate admitted he expects to have a conversation with the club about his future soon.
Why a Solanke sale may be unlikely after Roberto De Zerbi’s comments
It is worth remembering that De Zerbi referred to Solanke as one of the best strikers in the Premier League, and admitted he wants the former Bournemouth man to play a leadership role.
It thus appears unlikely that Spurs will cash in on the England international, but with Richarlison having just a year left on his deal, he may have played his last game for the club.
Lankshear will hope to catch De Zerbi’s eye in pre-season, but one would certainly expect the club to sign another number nine this summer to beef up their squad in the event of Richarlison’s departure.
