The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare and Football.London’s Alasdair Gold have both suggested that Tottenham Hotspur may not make any deadline day signings.
The North Londoners have been one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League so far this window, managing to secure the signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty, Joe Hart, Sergio Reguilon, Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius.
Reports indicated that Jose Mourinho still wants to bring in a central defender before the deadline, with Milan Skriniar said to be the club’s main target.
However, the Slovak started for Inter Milan against Fiorentina yesterday evening amid reports that the deal is unlikely to go through (Fabrizio Romano).
Eccleshare has taken to social media to inform Spurs fans that they should not expect any more signings before the end of the day.
Hesitant to say this given window so far (!) but understand we shouldn't expect any more #THFC incomings this window
Focus is on outgoings, eg Sess + Foyth loans and then hoped for sales like CCV, who has interest from Champ clubs, + Rose
At this point Aurier expected to stay.

Meanwhile, Gold also said on his YouTube channel that the Lilywhites are happy to wait until January if they do not get the central defender they want.
He claimed that Mourinho sees it as the final part of the puzzle and so the club do not want to act in haste and make an error.

Even if we do not bring a centre-back in today (which looks like it might be the case), we have still had an excellent transfer window. I would prefer us to wait until January to get Skriniar in rather than sign someone like Rudiger now.
