Two Spurs players make ESPN’s list of 10 most famous British athletes

US-based ESPN recently released a ‘Fame 100’ list where theY listed the 100 most famous athletes in world sport. Separately they also released a list of top 10 most famous athletes from the United Kingdom.

It will come as no surprise that the two Spurs players who have made the list are Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

The England captain who won the golden boot at last summer’s World Cup came in at 7th place and was the only Spurs player in the ‘Fame 100’ list. Meanwhile, Dele Alli who is regarded by many as the best young midfielder in the country was said to be the 9th most famous British Athlete.

Former Tottenham man Gareth Bale was the highest placed footballer on the list coming in at third place, just behind Lewis Hamilton and Rory McIlroy.

The other footballers in the top 10 were former England Captain Wayne Rooney who came in at 4th spot, Theo Walcott in 8th and Jamie Vardy in 10th.
