Two Spurs players named in Premier League Team of the Month for March

Both Cristian Romero and Heung-min Son have been named in the Premier League team of the month for March by WhoScored, with Son earning the second-highest rating of any player in the division.

It was an up-and-down month for Tottenham in March, with big wins over Crystal Palace and Aston Villa followed up by a disappointing defeat at the hands of Fulham.

Luckily, Ange Postecoglou‘s men put things right at the weekend with a hard-fought victory over Luton Town, to end the month on a high.

Son and Romero make the team of the month

Heung-min Son scored the winner in that game, and he has been rewarded with a place in the WhoScored team of the month for the Premier League in March. His teammate, Cristian Romero, joins him in the star XI.

Romero sits in the heart of the defence alongside Bournemouth’s Chris Mepham. The Argentine centre-half bagged an average rating of 7.39 from WhoScored, after playing the full 90 minutes in each game for Spurs, and even getting a goal in the win over Palace.

Son, meanwhile, registered a huge 8.12 average rating across the month. Only Chelsea’s Cole Palmer scored higher in the team, with a score of 8.51.

The Spurs captain contributed three goals and two assists in March and was on the scoresheet in each of the three games the Lilywhites won. He now has 15 goals and eight assists this season (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Sonny has been on fire this month, and indeed, this season. You just feel like he is always going to turn up with a goal, and his impact this year cannot be underestimated. Romero, too, has been a formidable presence at the back, has contributed goals, and has massively improved when it comes to composure and maturity.
