After securing a return to Champions League football on a dramatic last day of the season (Premier League), a number of Tottenham players are now enjoying a well-earned break from football.

Spurs duo Eric Dier and Matt Doherty have taken full advantage of their holiday time and were pictured alongside Manchester City players Phil Foden and Ruben Dias, as well as Chelsea’s Mason Mount (Spurs Web Twitter).

The quintet are soaking up some sun in Monaco whilst attending a Formula 1 event before they head back to Hotspur Way to start preparations for Spurs’ pre-season tour of South Korea (Football.London).

Dier has enjoyed a very strong season at the heart of Antonio Conte’s defence. The Englishman made 35 Premier League appearances for the Lilywhites and was a key component of Spurs’ much-improved backline.

Doherty endured a tough start to the campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo but he eventually established himself as Conte’s first-choice right-back before suffering a season-ending injury in April.

However, according to The Athletic, Conte sees Doherty as ‘dispensable’ and would be open to selling the 30-year-old if a suitable upgrade was found.

Spurs have been linked to exciting Nottingham Forest wing-back Djed Spence in recent weeks as Conte looks to provide some attacking impetus from wide positions (The Sun).

It is great to see the lads getting some well-earned rest after a huge push at the tail-end of last season. It would also be great if Eric could have a word with Foden and see if he fancies the London life.

Doherty’s turnaround under Conte has been remarkable and although it is clear that Spurs need to bolster their wing-back options, not many Spurs fans would be against keeping the Irishman around the camp for another season.
