Two Spurs stars celebrate five years at the club

It seems like yesterday that the young faces of Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela arrived on the scene at Spurs, but it’s actually five years to the day.

Both attacking midfielders signed on August 30 way back in 2013, and have gone on to become integral members of the team, and firm fan favourites.

In that time, Eriksen has played a huge 228 games for the Lilywhites, scoring 56 goals, and creating countless more.

In comparison, Lamela has only managed 149 appearances for Spurs, missing a whopping 108 games through injury since his arrival in North London. Although the Argentine has only bagged 24 goals, that rabona in the Europa League is surely worth at least 50.

Lamela signed a new contract this summer, keeping him at the club for the foreseeable future, but Eriksen’s new contract is a little more elusive.

After reports reportedly stalled last week, fans will be happy to see the great Dane’s tweet today, celebrating his five year anniversary.

Who wants to see him sign a new long-term deal?
