Three Tottenham men nominated for December Premier League awards

Antonio Conte and Heung-min Son have both been nominated for Premier League awards for the month of December, while Lucas Moura is among the goal of the month nominees.

In the festive month, Conte managed five Premier League matches in North London, winning three and drawing two with a goal difference of eight.

While this is impressive without context, it becomes even more admirable when you consider the inconsistency Spurs were showing before Conte arrived at the club.

Heung-min Son has also been nominated for the EA Sports Premier League player of the month after an impressive December.

He played 433 minutes, scored four goals, recorded one assist, and had a passing accuracy of 83% across the month.

Finally, Lucas Moura has been nominated for goal of the month for his superb strike against Norwich City.

There has certainly been a huge uptick in the quality, consistency, and goal-scoring ability since Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in N17, although the Lilywhites suffered a blip against Chelsea last night.

Tottenham fans will be hoping for many more monthly award nominations to come before the season is over.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I think Conte deserves the manager of the month award purely for how quickly he has managed to turn Tottenham around from hopelessness to some form of consistency. Son probably doesn’t have much of a shot for POTM but his four December goals were very important.
