Three Tottenham Hotspur stars have now earned recoginition following Spurs’ win over Aston Villa in matchweek 36, featuring in Alan Shearer’s team of the week.

Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters will certainly be pleased with how their team has performed in the last two games.

Spurs were not at their scintillating best against Wolverhampton Wanderers last matchweek, but they got the job done, securing a much-needed win over the already relegated side.

This gameweek, though, Tottenham upped the ante and produced what is arguably their best performance of the calendar year when they faced Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Roberto De Zerbi’s men were ruthless in their approach and secured a convincing 2-1 win over Unai Emery’s side.

Spurs stars Micky van de Ven and Conor Gallagher make Alan Shearer’s team of the week

Following that matchup, two Tottenham stars have now earned recognition for their display against the Villains.

Alan Shearer, in his matchweek 35 Team of the Week, included both Micky van de Ven and Conor Gallagher in his best XI based on performances from the last round of fixtures.

Van de Ven was named in a back three alongside Senesi and Truffert, while Gallagher featured in a midfield two with Kobbie Mainoo.

As for the manager of the week, it was another Tottenham figure, with Roberto De Zerbi selected, making Spurs the side with the most representation in this week’s team.

Spurs’ survival fight remains finely poised despite upturn in form

It is certainly the perfect time for Tottenham to have picked up form, given that they still have so much to play for this season.

The Lilywhites remain embroiled in a relegation scrap, even though their latest victory saw them climb out of the bottom three into 17th.

However, there is still work to do, as West Ham United can leapfrog Spurs in the final three games of the season, with just one point separating the two London sides.

Nonetheless, Tottenham will fancy their chances of retaining their Premier League status if they make it three wins on the bounce with victory over Leeds United in matchweek 36.
