Two Tottenham stars named in PFA Team of the Year

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min both made it into the PFA Team of the Year, even though the England captain was beaten to the Player of the Year award by Ruben Dias.

Kane finished the season as the league’s top scorer and assist provider, taking home both the Golden Boot and Playmaker awards.

Son also had the best season of his career from an individual standpoint, scoring 17 times and registering 10 assists in the Premier League.

In fact, the dynamic duo carried Tottenham for large parts of the season, even breaking the record for the most goal combinations in a single Premier League season.

So, it was no surprise to see both Spurs forwards make it into the eleven, which was understandably dominated by Manchester City players.

However, Kane would have been disappointed to miss out on the Player of the Year award, with Dias taking home both the Football Writers’ and PFA gongs.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that both Kane and Son made the Team of the Season in a campaign that has been our worst in more than a decade, shows how reliant we were as a team on those two.

While there is a lot of focus on the need to invest in the backline over the summer, we also need to sign an attacker capable of scoring 10-15 goals, now that Alli is showing no signs of getting back to his old self.
