Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have both made the nine-player shortlist for the Fans’ Footballer of the Year Award 2022.
Kane had a poor start to the 2021-22 season but the striker’s form turned around when Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm over 12 months ago, and he went on to have an extremely strong second half of the campaign.
The 29-year-old has been on fire in front of goal during the first part of this season, having found the back of the net 12 times in 15 games (Transfermarkt).
Although Kane has not found the back of the net in England’s three group games at the World Cup, the striker is leading the assist charts with three to his name in Qatar so far (Statman Dave).
Son Heung-min has perhaps not lived up to his usual standard so far in this campaign but the South Korean also had a strong finish to the 2021-22 campaign, sharing the Golden Boot with Mo Salah.
The two Spurs stars have made the shortlist for the Fans’ Footballer of the Year Award 2022 along with Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Guimaraes, Erling Haaland, James Maddison, Beth Mead, Kevin De Bruyne, and Mohamed Salah.

Spurs Web Opinion
Kane’s sensational 2022 has gone a bit under the radar. The striker has not only been in brilliant form this season but it is worth remembering that he only had two goals until December last year and yet finished the 2021-22 campaign with 17 goals in the Premier League, owing to his terrific run of form after Conte took over.
