Some Spurs fans on social media have been left angered by comments from Japhet Tanganga’s agent suggesting that he would like to take the player to Italy in the future.
The defender has had a steep rise to fame over the past few months since making his Premier League debut against Liverpool in January.
The youngster was handed a five-year contract by the club a little over a month ago as a reward for his impressive displays during his breakthrough season.
Although a back stress fracture put the defender out of action following the restart last season, he will be hoping to carry on from where he left off as the players get set for a return to Premier League action next week.
Tanganga’s agent, Roberto di Fanti, incurred the wrath of some Spurs fans, by admitting that it would be ‘a dream’ to take the 21-year-old to Napoli (Radio Punto Nuovo).
Reacting to Di Fanti’s comments, some Spurs fans called for the youngster to change his agent as they were worried that he might be advised poorly.
However, others insisted that the comments meant nothing given that Tanganga came through the ranks at Spurs and has just penned a new five-year deal.
Time for Japhet to change agents.

It’s typical. Plays a few games. Then gets hyped. Then agent probably starts making demands far beyond what is realistic.

Sums up football agents really don’t it.
Funny how you don’t hear any of this shit with Kane…maybe that’s because his brother is his agent, knows Kane is happy and only has his best interests at heart.

what is wrong with agents

Doesn’t matter what his “dreams” are when the player wants to stay, typical nonce agent

Agent’s probably unhappy that he’s not getting his share of money

I find this so weird. If I was a football agent I wouldn’t be spouting off about how much I wish my players would go to Spurs. An agents job is to represent and achieve the best outcomes for their client, not to dream about the club they want them to go to.

Such a non story. Tanganga’s agent would like to sign a player for an Italian side one day 😂 nothing to do with what Tanganga wants https://t.co/v4iJt3lCaW

Why would he want to move to Napoli???
— Liam O’?? (@TanguyNdembele) September 3, 2020
Said himself he wants to be a one club player and just signed a long term deal…

Spurs Web Opinion
There is certainly some cause for concern here as we have seen time and again how bad advice from their representatives can often severely dent the progress of young players. However, Tanganga comes across as someone who is humble and has his feet on the ground. Hopefully, he listens to the people who have his best interest at heart, rather than the ones who are looking to profit off his value.
