Uefa comment on Tottenham’s upcoming European fixture amid Covid outbreak

Tottenham Hotspur are facing a crisis ahead of Thursday’s Europa Conference League clash against Rennes.

The North Londoners take on the French outfit in a crucial match which they need to win to stand a chance of qualifying for the final 32 of the competition.

It is understood a number of players and club staff have returned positive Covid-19 tests with Football.London claiming that seven first-team players and two members of Antonio Conte’s backroom staff have recorded positive lateral flow tests for Covid-19.

Under Uefa regulations, if Conte has 13 available players at his disposal, including a goalkeeper, from their 25-man A list, they must fulfill the fixture (Sky Sports).

Uefa have confirmed that the match is still expected to go ahead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as scheduled.
