UEFA to inspect Tottenham pitch today

BBC report that Tottenham Hotspur and Wembley will face a visit from a UEFA inspector today ahead of their must win clash against PSV tomorrow night.

Spurs last took to the Wembley turf against Manchester City a week ago today, and the grass was a little questionable to say the least.

The Tottenham/City fixture had been moved from a Sunday to the Monday to accommodate a pre-booked NFL fixture.

This NFL game was the third in just a couple of weeks for Wembley, and it showed on the pitch.

The usually pristine, green turf was largely brown, churned up, and dying, creating an uneven and bobbling playing surface for the two sides.

UEFA then took the decision to organise an inspection ahead of the PSV game to ensure it is up to scratch.

A specialist pitch expert and the match referee will carry out the inspection.

Spurs and Wembley have had a week to prepare for the inspection.
