‘Unbelievable’ – Pundit predicts what age Harry Kane will continue playing until

According to talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane could continue playing into his 40s.

Kane is enjoying a fine season on an individual level, with 23 goals in all competitions already this term (Transfermarkt).

It feels like the 29-year-old is breaking records every week, too. In February, Kane surpassed Jimmy Greaves’ long-standing record to become Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer (GOAL).

With his goal against Italy last night, Kane took his international tally to 54 goals, overtaking Wayne Rooney to become England’s all-time leading scorer (GOAL).

There is now just one big record left for Kane. The Tottenham man needs 56 league goals to match Alan Shearer’s tally and become the top goalscorer in the Premier League era.

Whether he does that with Spurs or not remains to be seen. Some reports suggest Kane is open to signing a new contract at the club (GiveMeSport), while others believe he wants to leave in the summer (Daily Mirror).

Wherever he ends up continuing his career, Agbonlahor believes we could be seeing Kane play for many years to come.

He said: “Isn’t that 21 Premier League goals? It’s unbelievable.

“I think Harry Kane’s just quietly going about his business and he knows that if he’s got the choice to move in the summer, he will move – whether it’s Man United or Bayern Munich, he will go.”

“But I just see him as a player who will play until late as well, he’s not playing until 34 or 35. I think he’s playing [until] 38, 39 or 40s, Harry Kane.

On Kane’s motivations, he added: “He’s going to want to break Shearer’s record and add on 40.

“He’s not going to want to stop. He’ll want to make it a record that’s going to take another 20 years to beat.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I can definitely see Harry Kane performing at the top level for another decade.

He won’t be able to hit 20 goals a season for all that time, but he can certainly adapt his game a little and contribute from a little deeper.

Athleticism has never been fundamental to Kane’s game, so there’s no reason why he would regress substantially past the age of 35.
