‘Unbelievably serious’ – Report reveals how Spurs player has surprised his team-mates

On the evidence of what we have seen so far, it looks like Tottenham’s acquisition of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg might prove to be one of the best bargain deals in recent years.

The midfielder has settled in seamlessly in North London and has become an important part of the side.

The former Southampton man is the only player to have played every single minute of Tottenham’s Premier League campaign so far (transfermarkt.com), which demonstrates how vital he is to Jose Mourinho’s side.

The Athletic have now revealed that the 25-year-old has also made a big impression with his Tottenham team-mates, many of who have been left surprised by his intensity.

A dressing room source is quoted as saying: “He is one of the most serious players I’ve ever seen.

“Unbelievably serious, no wonder he was made captain of Southampton (at 23) — he is a leader and a hard worker and the type of player that Jose (Mourinho) loves.”

The article also explains how Hojbjerg is constantly dishing out advice to his teammates during matches.

During Tottenham’s win over Brighton on Sunday, it is revealed that the midfielder yelled at his backline multiple times to “hold the line” and even once screamed “come back, Harry” at Kane after the away side won a freekick.

It is also claimed that Hojbjerg keeps shouting instructions at Tanguy Ndombele throughout matches with the Frenchman finding himself back in favour under Mourinho this season.
