Brennan Johnson has hit a rich vein of form of late, and speaking after the recent draw with West Ham, the Tottenham man has praised his teammate, Timo Werner, and explained how they are linking up recently.
Tottenham made a big and bold move on transfer deadline day last summer, when they splashed out £47.5m to bring Brennan Johnson to North London (Sky Sports).
The young winger had only had one season in the Premier League, albeit a fairly successful one with Nottingham Forest.
Despite intense scrutiny and criticism for his performances early on this season, Johnson is now proving all his doubters wrong and has become one of the most productive and important players in Ange Postecoglou‘s side right now.
His goal against West Ham on Tuesday was his fifth of the season, and he also has seven assists to his name (Transfermarkt).
Johnson and Werner understand each other’s game
Speaking after that game, Johnson discussed his connection with a fellow new signing at Spurs, Timo Werner, who provided the assist for his latest goal. Johnson highlighted the way the two players are able to interpret each other’s movements on the field.
He said: “The more time goes on I feel like the better the relationship becomes between me and Timo. I am kind of understanding his play a lot more and he is understanding mine, so it was nice for him to cut the ball across for me and for me to score.”

James Maddison had his time early on this season, Richarlison was on fire at the start of this year, and now it’s Werner and Johnson’s time to shine.
